iTunes Radio to launch in UK and other music news
Apple recently announced that there are plans afoot to roll out its iTunes Radio service in the UK and other countries next year. Having only been launched in the US on September 18, iTunes Radio already offers around 300 genre focused and DJ curated stations. This announcement comes hot on the heels of agreeing international rights with several major record labels including Universal. Ultimately, Apple plans on offering the service in over 100 countries worldwide.
In other news, OneRepublic who are currently at the top of the singles chart with their hit Counting Stars (Oct 6th), have just announced a UK tour for next year. Seven major dates have been confirmed in the likes of London's Roundhouse, as well as Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. The shows will begin in March next year and tickets go on sale October 11th this year.
One of the most influential rock bands in history, Pixies, will also be performing in the UK with four dates in November this year. They have also just released the music video for new single 'Andro Queen' which comes from their first studio release since 1991's Trompe Le Monde.
Elsewhere, Dizzee Rascal has been slightly critical of Kanye West, saying that he is not a good spokesperson for hip hop right now. This comes after West's infamous hour-long rant during an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. Dizzee Rascal has recently released his fifth studio album simply called ‘The Fifth’ which features a whole host of cameos and producers.
