Highlights of the 2013 Reading and Leeds Festivals
Between August 23rd and 25th over 180,000 music fans packed into the Reading and Leeds Festivals for the 2013 event. The line-up was incredible, with huge names from home and abroad such as Biffy Clyro, Chase and Status, Eminem and Nine Inch Nails all performing over the weekend.
Although the Leeds Festival is a relatively recent addition only dating back to 1999, the Reading Festival has plenty more history as it has been running in one guise or another since 1961. Apparently, this makes it the world's oldest pop music festival still taking place; even older than Glastonbury.
Back to the music and most of the bands and artists performed at both festivals over the weekend, giving fans at both events the chance to see them in their full glory. One definite highlight of the weekend was Eminem headlining the main stage, first in Reading on Saturday, then on Sunday in Leeds. Rock music was well represented also, with Green Day, System of a Down, Bring Me The Horizon and New Found Glory all rocking out in front of tens of thousands.
The festivals don't just represent rock music however, and dance acts such as Skrillex, Disclosure, Alex Clare and Knife Party all put on fantastic performances. For many, some of the best performances were to be found at the NME/Radio 1 Stage where the likes of Alt-J, Jake Bugg and Azealia Banks all showed why they have been successful in the charts recently.
If you're as big a fan of music as we are you will love our music T-shirts from classic bands such as Led Zeppelin, Motorhead and Nirvana. On the solo front, we have great rock T-shirts from Van Halen, Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix. We even have a Woodstock T-shirt for you festival fans, and music belt buckles too.
