PS4 vs. Xbox One battle heats up as Sony announces release date
The next few months is going to be an exciting time for video game fans as Sony and Microsoft go head-to-head, both releasing brand-new consoles at the same time. Although Microsoft has only said that its new Xbox One console will be released sometime in November, Sony has gone one step further and announced that the PlayStation 4 will be released in Europe on November 29.
To make things even more exciting, at the recent Gamescom trade fair in Cologne Sony revealed three new games which will be released on PS4. The games are Shadow of the Beast, which will be a Sony exclusive; Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, a post-apocalyptic game from the same developers of hugely popular game Dear Esther, and Minecraft, the legendary landscape building game which has already been a huge hit on other platforms.
However, Xbox One seems to be leading the way as far as exclusive titles are concerned, with Sony having already announced Halo 5 as its premier exclusive release. Other exclusive titles confirmed are Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse and Quantum Break.
According to Sony, more than 1 million pre-orders have already been made for the PS4 and with Christmas only a few months away, they expect this total to rise dramatically. Who knows which console will win the battle for Christmas sales, but one thing is for sure, video game enthusiast will have a tough decision to make this coming November.
