Microsoft announces new Halo 4 Champions bundle

Great news for fans of Halo 4 - on August 20 Microsoft will be releasing the fourth major expansion for the Infinity Multiplayer experience.

The Champions bundle is expected to be available on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points, and contains three new DLC packs as well as an array of bonus content and at least 18 new in-game items which are exclusive to this update.

Although full details are yet to emerge, the three new packs are called the Infinity Armor Pack, Steel Skin Pack and Bullseye Pack. As you would expect, Infinity Armor Pack will introduce a number of new wearable items to protect your character, while the Bullseye Pack comes with two new maps, one of which is a remake of the classic Halo 3 map, The Pit.

Bullseye will also have new Spartan armour and an entirely new game mode called Ricochet. Finally, the Steel Skin Pack looks to be an interesting addition with custom steampunk skins, weapons and armour.

All three of the downloadable packs will also be available separately, but it is certainly cheaper and more fun to buy all three in one go. These additional DLCs follow on from the Majestic and Castle map packs released earlier this year.

Meanwhile, many of the world's best Halo players have been competing at the Halo 4 Global Championship at RTX 2013 in Austin, Texas. The six best players will advance to the world finals in Seattle, Washington in August.
