Tool Covers 'No Quarter' in Full Led Zeppelin Attire
No, that's not Robert Plant rocking out on the microphone pictured above. That photo was taken at the 2015 Monster Mash Music Festival in Tempe, Arizona, during which Tool opened the set by covering Zeppelin's "No Quarter" in full Zeppelin Attire. As you can see, Tool's Maynard James Keenan went full out for the cover, sporting an ash-blonde wig, aviator-style sunglasses, a belt buckle, jacket, scarf, and torn-up jeans. Adam Jones also dressed up for the "No Quarter" gig, using a double-neck guitar in true Jimmy Page fashion.
Of course, this couldn't have come at a better time considering that Tool performed the show on Halloween weekend. But if you missed the show, you'll have to wait a while to see them perform again. The Monster Mash Music Festival was the only show in which Tool performed this year.
Setlist for the Tool 2015 Monster Mash Music Festival included the following:
- “No Quarter”
- “The Grudge”
- “Forty-Six & 2″“
- “(-) Ions”

Foo Fighters Begin Ominous Countdown... But to What?
The legendary rock band The Foo Fighters have launched a countdown clock. The only question that remains is to what are they counting down? Groll and gang shared a photo on their official Foo Fighters Facebook page, revealing a clock as it counts down in real time from 25 days. The photo also includes a link which redirects visitors to the band's website, FooFighters.com, but the bigger story is why they are counting down.
When questions about the mysterious countdown clock, a representative for The Foo Fighters declined to comment, leaving us fans with more questions than answers. However, the folks over at Entertainment Weekly have a few plausible theories. One possibility as noted by EW is that the clock is counting down to the release of a new Sonic Highways documentary that is scheduled to air on HBO. The band recorded and released the original Sonic Highways documentary last year, and Grohl confirmed that he and the rest of the band were interesting in making a second documentary. Another possibility is that the clock is counting down to a release of Grohl's "viral moments" from The Foo Fighters' summer tour. In any case, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled on November 23 to see what happens, and I suggest all Foo fans do the same!
Metallica May Perform at Super Bowl 50
Before the millions of Metallica fans begin to go nuts, let me start off by saying that there's no indication that Metallica will perform during the Super Bowl halftime show. However, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett have announced their "involvement" in the pre-Super Bowl festivities next year. Reports suggest that Metallica will headline a concert during CBS Radio's The Night Before pre-Super Bowl party at San Francisco's AT&T Park.
If Metallica isn't going to perform during the 2016 Super Bowl show, then who is? Well, that's a question that remains unanswered at this time. In fact, we probably won't get a definitive answer until sometime next year. But some sources are claiming that Maroon 5 is in talks to perform.
Motorhead Releases Signature Beer
When you think of the English rock band Motorhead, beer probably doesn't come to mind. Well, that may soon change, because Motorhead recently launched a new Imperial Pale Lager (shown above). The new brew was released in select pubs and stores in Sweden on November 2. It features a cool, crisp texture with an alcohol by volume of 6.2%. I haven't personally tried the new Imperial Pale Lager, but it certainly looks and sounds delicious. And with the Motorhead name attached, you really can't go wrong with it.
"With Motörhead Imperial Pale Lager, we pulled all the stops, and this is craft beer at it’s best. We love the approach of Patrick and his crew at Nils-Oscar, and we know our fans will love this great beer as much as we do," said Motorhead drummer Mikey Dee.
