Possible Scenarios for The Walking Dead Season 6

The Walking Dead Season 6 isn't expected to air until October 11, 2015. While zombie-obsessed fans like myself will have the spinoff series, Fear The Walking Dead, to hold us over, many people are wondering what's going to happen in the new season. The Walking Dead season 5 ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger, with Rick Grimes acting as the town's executioner by killing Pete.

So, what's going to happen in season 6? Is Rick Grimes going to continue down a long, dark path of vigilante justice? Will the survivors and the town's inhabitants co-exist more peacefully now that Pete is "gone." Unfortunately, we don't know the answers to these questions, but some recent statements made by the show's producer and cast members provide some insight into a few different possibilities.

If you've read The Walking Dead comics, you may recall a viscous psychopath named Negan, who carries around a baseball bat covered in barbed wire. Negan even has a name for his prized grand-slam slugger: Lucille (no, we're not kidding). There's some evidence suggesting that Negan will make an appearance in season six. When asked whether the upcoming season would feature this Governor-like villain, Scott M. Gimple said it was definitely a possibility.

"It’s absolutely a possibility," said Scott M. Gimple, writer and producer for AMC's The Walking Dead. "And when I say it’s a possibility, we have a plan in place, but there’s a couple variables for that plan that we’re deciding about. It really depends on a few factors as we move into setting up the last bit of the season story-wise."

That's not an official confirmation by any means, but it indicates that it's a real possibility. It's safe to assume producers have already finished filming the show, so it's just a matter of time before we know if he appears in the new season.

There's also belief that Carl will lose an eye during season six of The Walking Dead. In the comics, Carl gets hit in the eye by friendly fire during a zombie attack, resulting in loss of memory and almost loss of life. Carl pulls through, however, thanks largely in part to the town's doctor.
