Check Out The New Dawn of Justice Batmobile

Batman's iconic vehicle, the Batmobile, has gone through some major changes over the years, but we're really excited to see the new model in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Pictures of the Dawn of Justice Batmobile first began appearing online several months ago (we posted them on our blog). Resembling the Batmobile from The Dark Knight Rises with a rustic/modern touch, it looks pretty awesome to say the least. The massive wheels, rugged siding, and symmetrical design elements create a truly remarkable appearance that fits well with the Batman theme. But what really makes the Dawn of Justice Batmobile stand out from other Batmobiles is what's under the hood.

While speaking at this year's Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, studio executives revealed the specs of the Dawn of Justice Batmobile – and no, it's not your ordinary sedan with body armor. The newest Batmobile is roughly 20 feet long and tips the scales at 7,000 pounds. To put those numbers into perspective, that's longer and heavier than nearly every consumer-model sports utility vehicle (SUV) on the market.

Normally, cars of such weight would lack speed, but this isn't the case with the Batmobile. Reports indicate that it boasts a top speed of 205 miles per hour! Even Superman is going to have a tough time escaping the Caped Crusader. Unfortunately, studio execs didn't reveal what type of engine is powering the Batmobile; they only revealed the top speed. It's safe to assume there's a top-of-the-line engine under the hood, however, as 205 mph is some serious octane.

Looking inside the Batmobile you'll get the impression it's a real military vehicle. It contains rows upon rows of buttons and switches, with weapons systems including a .50 caliber machine gun.

Single-handedly designed and fabricated in near complete seclusion by the Batman, this infamous pursuit and capture vehicle has earned its reputation as the apex predator on the mean streets of Gotham City,” said Warner Bros. “Over powered with an unmatched hybrid of prototype military and civilian performance technologies, this top machine has been estimated to reach speeds of up to 205 mph. The Batmobile’s imposing defense capabilities, supported by stolen Wayne Industries technologies, have been integrated with the latest in covert military grade armaments, stealth and active protection systems.

The new Batmobile certainly looks and sounds awesome. Now only if we didn't have to wail until next year to see it on the big screen...
