Have You Seen Jared Leto as The Joker?

Jared Leto can do it all. The 43-year-old has performed in rock bands, written songs, acted in television shows, movies, and more. But now he's preparing for one of the most hyped roles of all time: the Joker. While details are few and far between regarding Leto's role as the iconic DC villain, we were recently presented with the first official image (see above).

Suicide Squad director David Ayers tweeted the first official photo of Jard Leto as the Joker, revealing the popular rock star as one of the most iconic superhero villains of all time. "The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad," wrote director David Ayers writes on his Twitter account.

As you can see, Leto is taking the role to heart, complete with an almost maniac appearance that screams crazy. Leto will take the role of the Joker in the upcoming superhero -- or should I say supervillian -- movie titled Suicide Squad. Directed by David Ayers, Suicide Squad is expected to be the third movie in the DC Universe franchise and will center around the comic book series of the same name.

In case you didn't read it when it was first released, the Suicide Squad comics are about a group of villains who are hired by the government to perform highly sensitive black ops missions. The more modern re-release of the franchise involves an antihero team of supervillains who are granted clemency in exchange for working with the government. So, will the film follow the same path as the comics? We really don't know anything about the plot of the Suicide Squad film, but it's safe to assume products will remain true to the original story. According to Wikipedia, some of the other supervillians will include Deadshot, Harley Quinn, the Enchantress, Rick Flag, and King Shark.

In addition to having rock star Jared Leto, the Suicide Squid film will also star Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, and Cara Delevinge.

The Suicide Squad is expected to debut August 5, 2015.
