Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy Gearing Up For Release

Guardians of The Galaxy, the tenth installment in the Marvel's is scheduled for a theatrical U.S. release in less than a month.

This superhero flick is centered around American pilot Peter Quill, who finds himself on the run after stealing a mysterious orb. In order to evade the villainous alien Ronan, Quill must join forces with a rag tag group of misfit consisting of Rocket, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot. The Quill and his GOTG team soon discover, however, the true power of the orb, triggering a "last stand" fight that could either save or destroy the galaxy.

Vin Diesel, who plays the tree-like humanoid superhero Groot, opened up about his new role and what persuaded him to take it. According to Diesel, his social media fans kept asking him when he was going to take a role in a Marvel. Eventually, Diesel cracked and met with officials with Marvel to discuss a role in Guardians of The Galaxy.

"I had heard over the last year people on the social media page saying ‘what’s up Vin? Why aren’t you going to Marvel? Why aren’t you doing anything with Marvel? It would be a crime of cinematic history for you not to be.’ So I’m thinking this Marvel thing is becoming really, really important to these people. Okay, what can I do? What should I think?," said Diesel in a recent interview.

Some of the other stars you'll see in Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. There's an undeniable "powerhouse" cast behind the flick. Let's hope producers can bring the story and cinematography together to create another winning Marvel movie.

Here's a fun fact that may surprise you: Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy is based off the second series of the Marvel comic books under the same name. Released in 1969, the original Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy comic book,  American astronaut Major Vance Astro, the crystalline being Martinex T'Naga, Jupiter soldier Captain Charlie-27, and the blue-skinned noble savage Yondu Udonta. Marvel revamped the team in a more recent 2008 release of the comic book. The characters in the 2008 comic book are used in the upcoming Marvel flick.
